Biography |
I have been a writer for 25 years. I have always lived in London, received a grammar school education and gained a degree in psychology at Reading University. I am married with two children and four grandchildren. I spent 18 years as a teacher in the state system before joining my husband as a freelance writer. I continue to teach, mainly trainee journalists. I have travelled widely, including to the Himalayas, Australia and the USA, and have co-authored several books. I work mostly in partnership with my husband, Peter (qv), and we cover many subjects, not only mountaineering. |
|
Main professional activities |
I write articles and books. I have written for the Sunday Times, Financial Times, Weekend Telegraph, and Mail on Sunday, and various magazines. The topics include both outdoor and general subjects. Training, lecturing and consultancy in writing and journalism. |
