Biography |
Chiz Dakin is an award-winning freelance photographer, with particular interest in outdoor themes such as landscape, adventure sports and travel.
More recently she has also added travel writing to her professional skills and is a contributing writer at Suite 101.
She shoots images both on commission and on-spec for her growing image library at Peak Images. Her images have been used world-wide, on organisations websites, in annual reports and to illustrate written articles.
Recently she has been an official photographer at both the inaugural and second Madeiran walking festivals, spent 3 months travelling across the outback of north and western Australia photographing awesome landscapes, backpacking across the spine of the Spanish Sierra Nevada (where she now runs photography courses for the leading trekking company in the region), and is soon off to explore the world's natural freezer - Antarctica.
In particular, the rarely-visited Phantom Coast, the reknowned wild-life of the Antarctic Peninsula, the Ross Sea and Enderby Islands.
Current commissions include writing the second of two pocket-sized and wallet-friendly walking guide books in the Peak District, a cycling guidebook to the Peak District and working out what best to do with several thousand Australian images. |
